Happy New Year – January message from the PM

04 Jan 2012 3:33 PM | Bill Scott (Administrator)

The Holidays are behind us now, but from my perspective, it all went too fast! Barely a moment to sit and soak it all up with all the hustle and rush to get ready, events and gathering with friend before Christmas which included our annual trip to see the Revels in Cambridge with an overnight in a wonderful inn right there in the hub. Then it’s Christmas! Poof, it is over in a flash as we drove to Lansing, Michigan to spend time with our daughter and husband and our two grand kids, special as they are! That was great but then there was the long drive home just in time for New Year’s Eve and to welcome in the New Year with football. Now I just have to start the cut back and shed a few extra pounds that somehow just piled on while all that was going on. Who Knew! …. I hope all went as well with all of you, Happy New Year!

Things will resume as usual with our first meeting of the year at the BBC on January 17th at 7:00. At that meeting we like to start listing the calendar events for the year, repeat many cherished events and have the opportunity to add some fresh new ideas for the upcoming season. So come prepared with your ideas and input to help plan your club’s activities. Doing a little work on your car? Great opportunity to hold a Tech Session and get a little help with the project and have a fun gathering at the same time. Bring a time and date and we’ll put it on the calendar.

We know now that the Winterfest activity has moved to Saturday March 10th, a bit later than usual, but still in time for a much needed winter break and a fun activity. So be sure to mark this new date on your calendar and plan to attend. The more of us there, the more fun it will be! I am sure there will be more details at the January meeting.

We are still looking for members who are interested in serving as an officer or running for the BoG. The nominating committee and I are still open for members to volunteer to put their name on the ballot and the committee and I will be calling some of you to encourage you participation. Don’t be timid about this, it is your club and you have something to offer so through your hat into the ring and get involved.

Let’s all hope that 2012 will be a great new year for each of you and your families and also for the club. Start the club year off right by attending the January meeting.

Till then,

Bill Scott
