Hello Jerry, I just noticed your entry to the CCBCC forum about your rear hub issues. I had a bad rear hub on my 71 TR6 which I finally addressed in July of 2018.
I purchased the complete hub assembly from the Roadster factory. (From everything I've read, replacing the bearing alone is a very difficult task). I purchased TRF's P/N HP243 and paid $350 for it. When It arrived it was easy to see that the beautifully machined assembly was manufactured in eastern PA by Good Parts. Refer to this link: Rear Hub Assembly, Heavy Duty, for Original Axle, TR4A – TR6 | Good Parts
The current price on the Good Parts website appears to be $349. Attached is a scan of the installation instructions that came with the assembly and a page from the Triumph shop manual.
I also found a very detailed account of a hub replacement by a member of the Central PA Triumph Club. Here's a link: http://www.cptc.org/tech_tips/Refitting%20New%20Rear%20Hubs%20to%20the%20TR6.pdf
If for some reason the link doesn't work, let me know and I can scan it and send you a PDF. It's 4 pages long with lots of photos but a helpful article.
As it turns out I did not install the new hub assembly myself as I was, at the time, in need of replacing another hub of sorts ... my left hip. I took the TR6 to Steve at De Car Classics in Orleans (508-240-0333). He quoted it as a 2 hour job and charged me $200. Money well spent at the time.
If you have any questions let me know.
